TDI Nitrox
TDI Nitrox course is an entry level course for divers wishing to utilize enriched air Nitrox 22-40% as a breathing gas. Little else has impacted recreational diving more than the introduction of Nitrox, allowing more time underwater.
What you learn
During this course, you will learn the benefits, hazards and proper procedures for diving with EAN 22 to EAN 40. You'll learn about equipment considerations, cylinder labeling and analyzing of Nitrox.
Qualification gained
Upon successful completion you will be certified to dive with Nitrox mixes from 22 – 40% without supervision.
Pre-requisites
To enrol on this course, you must:
- be a minimum of 15 years old
- hold a minimum certification of Open Water Diver or equivalent.
Course structure
Half-day without diving / 2 days with diving (2 dives).
The course covers the history of Nitrox, its advantages and disadvantages, oxygen toxicity, equivalent air depths, maximum operating depths, nitrox computers and gas analysis.
Two Nitrox dives are recommended but are not required.
Equipment
You will need a full set of diving kit. We offer equipment rental if required, at a discounted rate.
A Nitrox cylinder will be provided.
