BSAC Ocean Diver
This course provides the essential knowledge and skills needed to prepare for open water diving. The Ocean Diver course prepares for this in the safety of a swimming pool or sheltered water and an introduction to open water in a controlled, safe manner. Experience and confidence will be gained under the guidance of a qualified instructor.
What you learn
Provides skills and experience to dive to a maximum depth of 20 metres.
We cover everything you need to know to be a safe diver such as diving equipment, diver signals, the body and effects of diving, dive planning, and safety skills such as how to execute a controlled buoyant lift.
Qualification gained
Upon successful completion you will recieve a certification which qualifies you to dive to a maximum depth of 20 meters.
Pre-requisites
To enrol in the BSAC Ocean Diver course, you must be a minimum 12 years old.
Course structure
4-5 days. The course includes theory lessons in a classroom, practical lessons in a swimming pool or similar sheltered water, and 5 open water dives. Provided you have basic confidence in water and are able to swim, you should have no difficulties during the Ocean Diver course.
